Saturday morning at the truck wash – meet Maarten and his team
Maarten, Supervisor Chauffeurs Land Transport
At 8:00 on Saturday mornings, you meet Maarten and his hard-working team Michael, Martijn, Ramon and Roy at the truck wash in Tilburg, Netherlands. There is nothing better than getting the trucks ready for the following week by giving them a decent wash. The truest affirmation of when you love your job and your truck! Maarten created a team of extraordinary truck drivers in the Netherlands who enjoy the friendly atmosphere at DB SCHENKER and just love to drive around with their trucks. If you’re looking for a routine job, it will simply be tough to fit in this team – where everyone is keen on exploring different routes every day.
“No day is like the other – that is what fascinates me at DB SCHENKER.” – Ramon.
“The fleet is constantly renewed, and there are many nice colleagues.” – Michael.
“I like the friendly atmosphere at DB SCHENKER and the special trips.” – Martijn.
“I like my work and the easy communication with the supervisor.” – Roy.
They have all been with the company for a couple of years and would not miss one day – even after a long working week, they meet every Saturday morning to wash their trucks in the truck wash with their own brushes.

During the week, the truck wash is used to clean 350 trailers a week, but on Saturdays, the truck wash is empty – that is when Roy, Ramon, Michael, and Martijn meet in the mornings to clean their trucks. It is also when the colleagues socialize as a team and talk about what’s going on.
As DB SCHENKER colleagues, it is important for our brand awareness to have clean trucks and trailers. Of course, on long-distance trips and with changing weather conditions, it’s not possible to keep the trucks clean every single minute. So, it is fantastic to see the enthusiasm and commitment of our colleagues, who just take charge to clean their trucks. Well done, guys – this encourages us to wash our cars on Saturday. You inspire us with your story – we are happy to have you on the team.
