Xena advises to stepping out of the comfort zone
Xena, Regional Data Owner
Looking back at her first day at DB Schenker, in 2018, at the GBS (Global Business Services) in Manila, Philippines, she would not have imagined that she would be in Toronto, Canada, today. This is how DB Schenker comes in as a life changer. Xena, our Regional Data Owner in Toronto, Regional Head Office Americas, is an inspirational colleague in making dreams come true. She always looks at the opportunities and what she can contribute to the team and then moves on.
"This is an opportunity that DB Schenker has offered me, and I took on the chance to explore and to grow."
First, she started at GBS as a Team Lead for Mobility, Total Rewards and Performance, where she learned about DB Schenker’s policy for global mobility, bonus schemes and payroll transformation. She quickly found that she wanted to move to a bigger role, which was when she took on the Regional HR Project Manager position, responsible for the APAC region, and developed the app for our internal mentoring platform. After three years, she then moved on to being the Regional Data Owner Americas in Toronto, Canada. With her partner, she took the leap from APAC to the Americas – exploring the different cultures along the way.
Where does this hunger for cultures come from?
“Actually, I wanted to become a chef. I love the different tastes of cuisines and I enjoy trying out new recipes. This attitude also encouraged me to move to different places and to experience new cultures. This is an opportunity that DB Schenker has offered me, and I took on the chance to explore and to grow.”
Xena completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology before she entered the world of Data Management in HR. Xena did not only move from APAC to Americas but also changed her mindset regarding a healthier lifestyle and started boxing as a new sport. A lady to watch who will not stop exploring and taking on new opportunities.
