    Job Overview

    This position is responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of a USAT Truck terminal. This position is responsible for management and development of all Operations personnel assigned to a specific terminal. The incumbent has full P & L responsibility for the business unit. Responsible for cross functional cooperation with other departments necessary for the successful performance of the business unit.

     

     

    What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

    • Coordinate, direct and supervise all operational aspects represented at the terminal location to provide outstanding service to our customers, effectively lead Driver Team members, and maximize business opportunities.
    • Provide leadership to ensure that pertinent company information is cascaded appropriately through the department  - Establish plans and initiatives for the designated terminal group to support and achieve business plan objectives. 
    • Responsible for all Operations units at the assigned location. Including, but not limited to, Driver Management, Planning, Customer Service, and Dedicated Operations. 
    • Maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with Maintenance, to effectively utilize vehicle and building assets. Team Leadership and Supervision 
    • Supervise and lead a team of operations professionals; provide mentorship, guidance, performance planning, goal setting and counseling to develop operations team members 
    • Set and maintain high standards to conduct all business in adherence with DOT standards • Responsible for all aspects of safety compliance and performance within the designated segment of terminal operations. 
    • Profit: Deliver gross profit required by the AOP for Trucking Operations. 
    • Maintain/improve the Operating Revenue for Trucking Operations per the (AOP). -  Collaborate with, and assist Sales and Marketing efforts as necessary to generate revenue

    What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes) 

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
    • 4 years of experience managing a similar size trucking operation at multiple management levels. 
    • 8 to 10 years of trucking fleet operations experience. PREFERRED SKILLS 
    • Strong leadership and team building skills. 
    • Ability to drive superior outcomes as a result of communication and teamwork within all levels of the organization. 
    • Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience. 
    • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results. 
    • Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety. WORKING CONDITIONS This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:  Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. , Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines. , Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects. 
    • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions. 
    • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locations with various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various external conditions. 
    • Travel domestically as necessary.
