    • Ensure the optimized and efficient capacity utilization of facility by analyzing, calculating optimal use of the fleet, staff and operations to maximise return for the business for Land and Air. 
    • Ensure both BUs have accurate and complete accounting, reporting, record management and internal control systems in place by meeting the Financial Targets for the BU as set and agreed with Management.
    • Maintain a balanced service to cost and profitability ratio through the evaluation, analysis and management of performance, variations, escalations, special request, projects and network optimisation.
    • Manage the 3rd party transporters utilised by Land Namibia, ensure that they are meeting the set out KPIs and service levels. 
    • Manage the line haul of cargo internationally from Johannesburg to Windhoek on our superlink fleet and oversee this operation. 
    • Oversee the Client Service department to ensure they are handling all collections and communications with client and to be the point of escalation for issues. 
    • Enhance the utilization of existing / new technology and ensure compatibility with operational requirements, facilitating integration through the development and implementation of support processes, platforms and mechanism including equipment control and maintenance.
    • Ensure workplace health, safety and security requirements in respect of the Windhoek and Tsumeb facility and carry out risk identification and assessment and implement corrective actions where relevant in order to safeguard the company and its employees.
    • Ensure that goods are picked and packed in the correct manner within the Windhoek and Tsumeb facilities and organize special requirements for the despatching and /or collection of stock such as hazardous materials or fragile products.
    • Ensure all staff records are maintained and reports distributed in a timely fashion.
    • accordance with P&O policies, undertake to employ, develop, administer qualified staff to ensure a high standard of client satisfaction.
    • Ensure high level service delivery through the management of the forwarding life cycle from inception to completion, placing particular emphasis on relevance, efficiency and effectiveness. Key emphasis on KPI management, activity and event performance management to yield maximum operational efficacy.
    • Coordinate and assist with the ongoing Air/Land Transport Projects and provide active daily support to expedite operations related to Air/Land Transport
    • Develop and establish relationships with internal and Cluster teams such as Air/Land Transport Operations, Operations Excellence, Customs, Commercial, etc. and through these partnerships resolve queries on Accounts, thereby ensuring seamless and quality service to the client.
    • Lead the Air/Land Transport teams through coaching, developing and motivating subordinates including follow-up of team and individual performance against targets and objectives aligned with overall company strategy. Implement and executing the DB Schenker Namibia strategies aligned with the Cluster.
    • Proactively ensure that all activities in the Air and Land BUs are compliant with current legal & company specific regulations including adhering to ISO procedures and report on monthly KPI’s & Event Controls.
    • Create and maintain a culture in Air and Land in line with the company values, promoting and developing initiatives in line with “best company to work for principles, as and when required, through the leadership from the Executive.
    • Align with the Regional and local office modernization projects to enhance Air / Land Transport products. Including but not limited to system enhancements, structure and staff re-purposing, process and work flow reviews to suit Global/Regional and Local productivity.
    • Analyzes operating results and its principal components relative to established objectives; as needed, makes adjustments and implements new procedures to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
    • Act as the Public Officer for Schenker Namibia (Pty) Ltd.
    • 3 years’ experience in a management role 
    • Relevant degree advantageous
    • Grade 10 is essential, however should you be in the employ of the company and do not have a Grade 10 qualification, your application will still be considered
    • Deep knowledge of logistics management specifically warehousing, transporting and logistics accounting
    • Keen understanding off Cross border land logistics and the transportation requirements to move cargo and the importance of the relevant documents
    • Client, partner and supplier relationship management and influence
    • Operational Risk Management
    • Health, Safety and security
    • Optimise revenue Vs Costs by achieving appropriate EBIT results.
    • Ability to built value based relationships with relevant customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
