As part of the Regional Account Management team, the Manager - Operations Contract Logistics compliments the team by specifically being responsible for supporting the SMRO for Schenker’s Regional operations for a blue-chip account, focusing on Finished Goods Forward Logistics which deals with the saleable goods which are sent across to direct consumers, retail stores and channel partners including VAS within hubs for the contract logistics business.
This role also supports the reverse logistics elements of the Finished Goods business.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Counterpart to Customers Regional Finished Goods team, Asia Pacific.
- Accountable for supporting the SMRO in the provision of DB Schenker’s Finished Goods and RMA Returns Logistics regional operations across DB Schenker APAC Sites.
- Work closely with the customer and the SMRO to drive customer key initiatives and scale planning for the operations in the APAC region for the Finished Goods business.
- To support operational excellence by the utilization and adherence to the DB Schenker Operations Standards and Operations Excellence program (XSite).
- To support the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives, assisting the SMRO and Manager Ops Ex reporting progress at monthly Operations performance reviews with the client.
- Monitoring of operation’s productivity and work with local country/operations management teams to drive process optimization / productivity improvement / quality improvement / cost reduction Responsible for Regional alignment of processes across countries, and overall compilation and maintenance of SOPs.
- Responsible to conduct audits in the country operations to ensure process and documentation compliance, and quality.
- Conduct regional operations planning and special events control and reporting as required.
- Knowledge of and support in the compliance for customer supplier responsibility (SR) requirements across the region.
- Work very closely with the IT Account Management team country to implement capabilities to improve reporting capabilities as well as potential EDI improvements with client’s systems.
- Support implementation for new business projects. The Manager Operations is responsible to work with project management team to align on implementation schedules, driving operations process mapping.
- Working with the countries to provide the best solution and Tracking of CAR (Corrective Actions Report).
Skills Required:
- Finished Goods operations knowledge.
- Returns Logistics and domestic transportation operations knowledge in hi-tech industry.
- Experience at management level within large scale & fast-moving FG warehouse operations previously.
- Able to understand B2B IT systems and WMS in order to discuss/ translate Business requirements to IT counterparts.
- Process mapping and problem-solving skills to identify bottlenecks and improve productivity.
- Certification/knowledge of Quality systems such as ISO or 6-sigma.
- Interested in technology trends and able to relate usage to enhance operations.
- Work well under pressure, and able to handle internal and customer demands effectively.
- Analytical and logical approach.

- Flexible to travel for business trips.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of business tools.
- Min 8 years of Logistics experience specializing in Logistics operations, preferably with returns/spares logistics and/or domestic distribution.
- Experience in handling customer accounts in Hi-tech industry.
