    The job holder is part of the Global Business Architect Team Airfreight (Frankfurt or Essen) and is responsible for the continuous development of functional changes in the business applications (with focus on the Transport Management System and its Eco-System) used within the Air Freight organization. He/she is leading all upcoming matters affecting the systems in cooperation with IT and/or related services.


    The job holder potentially will be deeply involved in the new Air Freight application transformation projects as key resource for development and deployment coordination as well as system-integration and to ensure pre-requisites are reached for successful global deployment.


    Key Outcomes:

    • All legal and functional requirements for Global Operation are met in the used global Transport Management Systems with its subsidiary applications
    • Development strategy for the new Transport Management System in Air Freight is followed up and executed in expected timeline for global deployment
    • Global business for migration is identified and jointly prepared (with other organizational units) for proper global deployment.
    • Air Freight and Project Management is supported to keep coordination on global deployment projects in close collaboration with Regional Air Freight, IT-Management Air/Ocean and other relevant stakes


    Tasks: 

    • Analyse global Air Freight- and/or Account-requirements
    • Prepare and create changes for global Transport Management Systems or subsidiary applications and coordinate with IT, system provider and within Air Freight
    • Decide for development prioritization
    • Coordinate and push for integration-testing
    • Support knowledge-transfer for new functionality into the global Support Organization (Business and IT Support)
    • Support global deployment coordination for business applications in Global Air Freight
    • Identify critical issues for deployment

    The job holder needs IT-related and methodical working skills to fulfil the role, especially project-management, business architecture and system-design-skills are crucial for being successful in the role. Advanced Air Freight experience is preferably available as well.


    To be successful in the above role, the incumbent should possess/ display the following key skills/ attributes:

    • Senior Project Manager or Business Analyst
    • Advanced experience in business-architecture and system-design
    • Subject leadership skills/experience
    • High motivation
    • Good communication skills
    • General Air Freight knowledge
    • Change Leadership
