DB Schenker is a globally integrated Transport and Logistics company providing international air and sea freight forwarding services together with national logistics solutions across Australia and around the globe.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated team player to join our Air Freight team as an Airfreight Gateway Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that cargo within the Gateway Department is executed in a commercially effective manner in line with Schenker procedures and customer requirements. You will play a key role in our growth strategy, contributing to consol optimisation and strategic trade lane development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all customs and quarantine requirements
- Maintain timely communication with internal and external stakeholders including airlines, truckers, terminals, and warehouse teams
- Monitor airport retrieval carrier, warehouse and HUB administration performance and report back on all performance matters relating to delay, loss or damage in transit or theft
- Ensure that milestones are regularly updated in operating systems to support optimum visibility for internal and external customers
The successful applicant will have:
- 2+ years of freight forwarding experience with an understanding of import and export
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
- The ability to be a team-player and contribute to department objectives
- A valid drivers license and ability to work flexible hours in order to meet the customer's fluctuating work requirements
